Starting in 2021, Cavill Lane’s Haunted Passage events are designed to thrill, amuse, and of course scare you. Influenced by horror films, and themed theatrics our aim is to entertain!
Are you READY to Face your Fears this Halloween? We hope so! We are THRILLED to welcome you to Cavill Lane’s Surfers Paradise 3rd Halloween Horror Experience, The Haunted Passage – Doomsday 2024! Each year we create a unique and different event that’s infected with scary fun, themed activations, creepy characters, pop ups and so much more. We are even seeing local businesses getting our infection! So, we’ve changing things up…
Grab the fam, mates & dates for one hell of a haunted experience. The Haunted Passage – Doomsday event is a ONE NIGHT only experience so we are extending the darkness with a full event program & wicked businesses.

Contestants in each category will be judged at 7:30pm on relevance to theme, audience excitement levels, costume/make up presentation, performance & attendance. Judges will announce the winners collectively at the end of each category.

READ COSTUME CONTEST TERMS & CONDITIONS
Each category in the competition is open to people over 15+, however if under 18 years, a parent or guardian must be present for the participant to enter the stage area and/or collect their prizes.
One entry for one category is allowed.
Entrants are to register between the nominated hours. All entrants must fill out a nomination form at the nominated location during the nominated registration times for each category. Each entrant must be ready for the competition 10 minutes prior to the competition beginning.
The components of each categories prizing are non-transferrable.
Entrants and participants grant permission to Cavill Lane Surfers Paradise and their stakeholders to use photos, videos or other imagery taken in the course of the event for promotional and advertising purposes.
- The promoter, its directors, officers and employees, related body corporates, and their respective officers, employees and agents will not be liable for any loss, damage or personal injury whatsoever (including but not limited to direct, indirect and consequential loss) suffered or sustained in connection with this promotion, the marketing of this promotion or use of any prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.
- If an act, omission, event or circumstance occurs that is beyond the reasonable control of the promoter and prevents the promoter from complying with these terms and conditions, the promoter will not be liable for any failure to perform or delay in performing its obligation. The promoter reserves the right (subject to applicable law) to cancel, terminate or modify or suspend this promotion.
- The promoter reserves the right to re-draw the winner in the event of the following: (i) breach of these terms and conditions; or (ii) forfeiting a prize or (iii) not claiming a prize or (iv) inability to contact the winner.

WARNING AN OUTBREAK HAS BEEN RELEASED / FIND PATIENT ZERO
Due to the outbreak wiling citizens will ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK into quarantine. Doomsday is a pond us and the authority is seeking the public to turn themselves in in hope to find patient zero. But be warned, this is NOT a safe zone, you will be risking your wits into navigating into the darkness to navigate through twists and turns, unexpected obstacles and unforeseen, evil intruders. Will you make it out alive?
Our aim is to scare and entertain you. Due to the intense nature of this attraction conditions of entry apply – Please ensure you read and understand ALL information on our website and all WARNINGS before purchasing a ticket and or entering the Haunted Maze. You will be subjected to confined spaces, loud noises, intense lighting, darkness, fog and sudden movement.
Purchase $10 pre-sale tickets online (booking fees apply) or $15 on the door. Get $8 door sales you come dressed in FULL *costume and can to meet all our Haunted Maze conditions & warnings. Eftpos Only. Costume discounts DO NOT apply for partial costume efforts. *Full costume means an entire outfit worn to create the appearance characteristic of a particular period, person, place, or thing, complemented with a mask and or themed make-up. We may ask you to remove your mask and or loose items before entering the maze.

- Paid parking is available from our Secure/Hilton car park off 6 Orchid Ave. Though we recommend you catch public transport, get dropped off or stay at local accommodation. We have a bar onsite!
The Haunted Maze (aka maze) is designed for a mature audience. We recommend at least 15 years and older. Anyone under 15, that wants to enter the attraction must have a paying and responsible guardian over 18 to enter with them.
Due to the size of the maze and emergency exit regulations, unfortunately the confined space does not accommodate wheelchair access. In light of this, we are offering an exclusive photo opportunity that is not available to the general public, please see an onsite event staff for details or contact us.
Participants need to be reasonably fit to enter the maze as is not suitable for attendees that have crutches, physical injuries as well as anyone that suffers from medical conditions, such as asthma, heart conditions, prone to seizures, physical ailments, poor sight, respiratory or any type of medical problem, are pregnant or suffer from any type of mental disease including claustrophobia and or panic attacks.
You will experience intense audio, lighting, extreme low visibility, strobe lights, fog, damp or wet conditions, special effects, sudden actions and restricted spaces.
For the entertainment of our customers, we will only allow a limited number of guests (2 to 4) in at a time. We do this so you have a better experience, rather than being bunched up and herded through.
Tickets can only be used once and only valid on 27, 28, 29 & 31 of Oct from 6pm – 8:50pm.
Maze entries are on a first in first serve basis therefore if you are unable to get in due to lines etc. you will have to come back on a following event night. Please plan your visit in advance to help secure entry into the Maze. You may not be able to enter the Maze if you arrive to close to the closing time of the event.
If you drop and or lose something, Do Not Stop! After exiting the Maze, please inform our staff and provide description, name and number. We will NOT stop the show for your lost item and will look for it after the night.
WARNING This attraction reserves the right to refuse anyone.

Carefully consider your purchase before buying a ticket. The Haunted Maze Tickets have conditions of entry and the Maze is designed to be scary.
Refunds will not be given if you enter the Haunted Maze and decide to leave early, get too scared and decide not to enter, you are no longer able to attend, complete the Haunted Maze and request a refund after you have gone through the attraction, have an medical issue that deems you unfit to enter and enter anyways.
Unused tickets are invalid for a refund. Tickets can be used for different days though are once use only.
Please ensure to read all other conditions that may affect your entry into the Haunted Maze.
If you are under the influence of drugs or alcohol and or if you are in breach of any of The Haunted Passage, Entrapment event conditions, Haunted Maze or any associated stakeholders within Cavill Lane and are asked to leave, refunds will not be given.

This guideline has been developed to keep within the Queensland State Amended Weapon’s Act.
The event organisers, event staff and their representatives reserve the right to refuse any entry of any prop they deem to be unsuitable or unsafe.
IT IS AN OFFENCE TO OPERATE ANY REPLICA WEAPON IN A WAY, WHICH COULD REASONABLY CAUSE FEAR TO ANY PERSON UNDER THE QUEENSLAND CRIMINAL CODE.
ALL PARTICIPANTS OF THE HAUNTED PASSAGE ENTRAPMENT MUST WEAR CARRY THEIR PROVIDED EVNT ID CARD IN ORDER TO BE ELIGIBLE TO CARRY A PROP WEAPON AT THIS EVENT.
ANY REAL WEAPONS FOUND WITHIN THE EVENT WILL BE FORWARDED ONTO QUEENSLAND POLICE AND THE PERSON IT BELONGS TO WILL BE REFUSED ENTRY TO THE EVENT IF THEY DO NOT COMPLY WITH OFFICIAL INSTRUCTIONS FROM the event organisers, event staff and their representatives.
Section 1 “Prop Bludgeoning devices’
This pertains to any form of prop weapon that resembles a Bludgeoning device and is not limited to Bats, Clubs, Sticks, Poles etc.
- Any “Prop Bludgeoning device’ must not exceed a maximum overall length of 120cm
- Any “Prop Bludgeoning device’ must not contain any form of hardened ridged core such as metal, steel or wood (fiberglass or plastics are ok as long as they do not exceed a circumference of 2.5cm as a core and are liable for a “Cut Inspection”)
- Any “Prop Bludgeoning device’ must have a suitable soft outer cover made from either plastic or foam
- Any “Prop Bludgeoning device’ must have a soft tip that cannot in anyway be used to stab or cause damage either by deliberate or accidental act
Section 2 “Prop Bladed Weapons”
This pertains to any form of prop weapon that resembles a Bladed Weapon and is not limited to Swords, Knives, Machetes etc.
- Any “Prop Bladed Weapon” must not exceed a maximum overall length of 100cm
- Any “Prop Bladed Weapon” must not be made of any form of Metal in any way shape or form
- Any “Prop Bladed Weapon” must not have an edge that can be sharpened to a point or fashioned in a way that can cause it to be sharpened
- Any “Prop Bladed Weapon” must not have a sharp point that can cause a stabbing injury to anyone be it a deliberate or accidental act
- Any “Prop Bladed Weapon” must not contain any form of hardened ridged core such as metal, steel or wood (fiberglass or plastics are ok as long as they do not exceed a circumference of 2.5cm as a core and are liable for a “Cut Inspection”)
Section 3 “Prop Firearms”
This pertains to any form of prop weapon that resembles a Prop Firearm and is not limited to Rifles, Pistols, Assault Rifles, Small Arms, Grenades etc.
- Any “Prop Firearm” must not exceed a maximum length of 110cm
- Every “Prop Firearm” must have at least 1 visible inch (1 Inch) of ether RED or ORANGE on the barrel and visible at all times
- Every “Prop Firearm” must not be able to fire any form of projectile during the event (this includes but not limited to all forms of foam darts or hydro-expanding balls)
- Any type of Magazine, Clip etc. must not contain any form of “Ammo”
- All Magazine are recommended to have a 1 inch band of BLUE colour that is visible at all times
- Any “Prop Firearm” must not contain any form of “Hard Metal” such as Steel, Iron etc (some forms of alloy or diecast metal are acceptable as they are a “Soft Metal” )
- No area or part of a “Prop Firearm” can have a sharp edge capable of causing a cut or slicing injury
- Weapon Attachments are permitted but must be rendered “inert” before event (such as battery removal)
- Laser Attachments (L.A.M’s) will not be permitted within the event grounds or the walk itself.
- All “Prop Firearm’s” are used will respect to others around you. Aggression in any form that is not wanted by another party or event goer will not be tolerated
- At no stage should a “Prop Firearm” be used to intimidate or threaten anyone around you. This will not be tolerated
- All “Prop Firearm’s” are subject to Event staff approval and this approval can be revoked at anytime

THE HAUNTED PASSAGE WILL USE BEST ENDEAVOURS TO INFORM UPDATES THROUGHOUT CAVILL LANE DIGITAL CHANNELS AND CONTACT HAUNT MAZE PURCHASERS EITHER BY PHONE, EMAIL OR IN WRITING (USING THE DETAILS PROVIDED AT THE TIME OF BOOKING) AND ADVISE THEM OF THE CANCELLATION FIRST HAND (INDEPENDENT OF THE AUTOMATED BOOKING SYSTEM). PLEASE NOTE, HOWEVER, IT IS THE CUSTOMER’S RESPONSIBILITY TO CHECK WHETHER THE EVENT IS GOING AHEAD AT THE SCHEDULED DATE, TIME AND VENUE, AND THE HAUNTED PASSAGE CANNOT GUARANTEE THAT THEY WILL INFORM THE CUSTOMER OF ANY CHANGES TO THE EVENT DATE, TIME OR VENUE. ANY CHANGES MADE BY THE AUTOMATED BOOKING SYSTEM NEED TO BE VERIFIED BY THE CUSTOMER, IF NOT NOTIFIED BY CAVILL LANE MANAGEMENT.
